2018 Holiday Mini Sessions

The end of 2018 is upon us and this time of year is always a busy time for everyone. I want to take this time to remind everyone to take a moment and slow down and reflect on all the memories of the year. The good ones will forever stay in your hear and mind and the bad ones... well just chock those up as lessons learned. This time of year is also a great time to gather your family and make one final lasting memory and capture that memory in photographs. They will be memories to have for a lifetime. A way to look back on the years and see how everyone has grown and changed over the years.
Do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at kgrussellphoto@yahoo.com to book your Holiday Mini Session! You can also find me on instagram at kgr_photo.

I wanted to share some of my favorite images from 2017's Holiday Mini Sessions. The first 2 families both choose to do at home photo sessions and the other 2 family's chose on site locations. The two on site sessions were shot at the Town of Maine Park and at the Park Ave Binghamton location.

These 3 images are almost the same but expressions are slightly different and I added a some effects to each one.

I thought I'd share a collage of the Gorman Family as there were several different poses I shot of them and wanted to give a nice variety of what I can offer.

The moms of these kiddos are sisters and wanted to have a sessions to capture the kids together for their family and I also had the privilege to be the first to capture the little one in her first professional photo shoot. As you can see I also threw in a image of one of the moms with her two littles.

This session was for the parents and the their 2 sons and their families. I thought that the best way to showcase the families and the images I caught of them was to do a couple mini collages.

2016 Catch Up

Before I start sharing the sessions from 2017 I wanted to finish sharing some sessions from 2016 that I did not have a chance to share yet. Here are some images from two of those sessions. The first one is sweet Anastasia and the second is a session I did with my sister, Becky and three sweeties that she babysat for.

All images are owned by KGR Photo. Please do not copy.

Prom is in the Air

It is hard to believe that it is already MAY!!
There are less then 6 weeks left of school and even less then that for Seniors. As their final year of school is coming to an end, there are many activities that will leave wonderful memories for years to come.

One of these, Rights of Passages, is Prom!

Here are a few Prom Sessions that I had done a couple of years ago.
This first one I met the couple at Traditions at the Glen and did these shots near the stone bridge taking you into the Golf Course.

This second Prom, I met the group before they go picked up (the blonde in red is my cousin) and then we headed down to Confluence Park, in Bingamton, NY.

I also played paparazzi at a graduation party, you can see that post here.

If your Prom is approaching and you'd like a session like this or if you would like to ensure that your Senior gets photos with all of their guest, contact me via email at: kgrussellphoto@yahoo.com.

Sisterly Love 2015

These next 4 images that I am going to share with you were taken during my Holiday 2015 Mini Sessions. I did not include these in that post as these deserve a post of their own and this truly was not a Holiday Session.

This session was done by the mother of these 3 lovely sisters as the oldest sister was getting ready to move away. In fact we did this session earlier in the day of the going away part. I can not say that this was not a session that was full of emotions because that is not the truth. It is hard to let go of the one of your own, I know this first hand as my baby sister has been away for several years as she attended collage and has chosen to stay in Pennsylvania as she starts her life with her husband. Although I am closer to mine and am able to see her on a regular basis, which is not true for this family, distance is still distance.

So let me introduce you to these 3 sisters, The D Sisters...

The bond of sister hood is not one that is easily broken. No matter the distance between sisters they will be there when one is in need. No distance big or small will ever come between the bond of sisters.

Rapp Wedding July 2015

Welcome 2017 a year of new beginnings....
Every year I say that I am not going to allow myself to get behind, clearly this has not been happening. 2016 found me with out computer for several months when I accidentally left my charger at a hotel in North Carolina and then had some issues getting it returned to me. The returning of the charger did not happen and I had to give in and buy a new one. With my HP finally up and running I once again found myself playing catch up. However, that is no excuse as to why this wedding from July of 2015 never got posted... That I don't have an explanation for.

I know in certain cases it may be a little silly to post a session that is a year and a half old but I feel that all of my clients deserve to see their sessions posted on my blog. With it being near freezing temps in Broome County this time a year and no upcoming sessions I will be showcasing some older sessions that have not made it to the blog as of yet. So today I share with you my dear friend Kathleen's wedding!

While this couple is not celebrating a new beginning, they are still in their "Honeymoon" phase. I am proud to finally be posting their wedding photos! Kathleen and I have become good friends over the last few years that we have known each other, but that is not how things started out... I am going to be honest here... her first impression of me was not a good one and because of this we clashed several times. One day she was in need and I offered to help and I am glad that this day when  she needed help I was there to offer it, because everything changed on this day and we became close. So of course when she asked me to shoot her wedding I could not refuse, for I truly knew that that first impression of be had long since faded away.

I present to you the wonderful Mr. & Mrs. Rapp

Kathleen had these great shirts made up for the bridal party to wear at rehearsal. I even had one, I will share that image later on!

 The bridesmaids and groomsman's gifts.

 Getting ready!

 The girls dresses.

The guys shoes.

 Let's get started!

Love the expressions on the bridal party during the ceremony.

Husband & Wife

The Bride & Groom Formals
I love capturing images like this one, when they couple is being silly and themselves. It helps really show how the couple is with eachother. The image above also showcases this.

Next I'm gong to share several collages. When there are a several photos of a section of a wedding that I want to share I like to put them in a collage. I chose to share these images in this way because it helps the viewer see them as a whole, it cuts down on the size of the post making it easier for the viewer to scroll back and forth in the post, and I like how nice they look in the collages.

The bride with her siblings with their spouses.

Watching the Bride & Groom dance while they keep the sun off their backs!
These umbrellas were passed out to the guest during the ceremony to them cool in the sun.

How adorable are these two?

Some of the pretty details of the wedding.

The Cutting of the Cake.

As I believe I said earlier in the post, a shirt was also made for me for the rehearsal dinner. My husband came along to help me out and so he also had a shirt. I wanted to share our shirts, but I did not want to take away from the great shots of the Rapp wedding.
So here are my husband and I, well the backside of us anyway, showing off the awesome shirts that Kathleen had made for us!

Many, many thanks to the Rapps and their great family for allowing me to be part of their special day. I hope these images bring great memories for years to come.
