Kristopher came to me not too long ago and stated that he wanted to take some photos to create a portfolio to summit to a few modeling agencies. We sat down and researched some ideas and talked about the look he wanted to create before we went out and took some photos. I suggested that he be creative and do some that were him and showcased his personality as well as doing some that we different and unique. We first headed to downtown Binghamton to take some images of Kris around the Courthouse looking "Studious". I also took him out into the woods to do some more creative images. I wanted to show off a little bit of his athletics as well as use the woods to create some "mellow" and "peaceful" images. We have a few more ideas of some images that we still want to create. Check back soon to see those images too.
I took a few of my favorite images and edited them and added few effects to them. Those images are all below.
I can not decide which of these two are my favorite. I love the top image
with the effect added to it. I added this effect to the image to try and give it an
"old" feel. In the black and white image I love how it makes the wall
look and that it pops the shadow of the lamp post all without taking away
from the subject.
A small twist on the plain old head shot. I wanted a few head shots, I just did not
want them all the normal head shot used in portfolios. So, while Kris was sitting on
the stairs I zoomed in close and a slightly different angle and "snapped".
This is one of my favorites for the simple fact of the expression on his face.
That expression... well that is his personality and I wanted some of that
in the images so that they were not all "posed".
Into the woods we headed...
We found this log laying there perfectly calling to us to use it.
One of the things that Kris does well are flips and stunts. I tried to tell him
he should consider being a stunt person too. Anyway, when we came across
this tree just laying there I knew just what I wanted him to do. After
a few tries I was able to capture just what I wanted.
To show his strength and his talent in one image!
After the work to create the above image I told him to have a seat and rest
for a moment. I went behind him to capture this image, lost in thought.
As we walked along the trail, I knew what I wanted for one of the images
I was just looking for the perfect spot. I found it! I wanted a spot that
was mostly shaded but had an area where the sun was shining through the
trees creating the perfect spot for him to sit and "meditate". I had him sit
in the spot where the sun was shining through the trees.
I wanted to include a horizontal image as one of my favorites. We were done shooting and heading back out of the woods when we came across this log. It was just sitting there saying "please include me in your image." So, we did. I told him to just have a seat again and be him relax and sit like he was if he was just "hanging out". This is what I captured when he sat and listened to what I asked.
