Grace- Easter

These are the photos taken of my little girl for her Easter shoot. We had a Sunday afternoon when just the two of us were home and I asked her what she wanted to do. Her reply was, "Take Easter photos of me and Ms. Bunny." We have a bunny so naturally Grace wanted her in the photos too. I love to find an Easter dress that comes with a matching doll dress and fell in love with this one. There are a few here with her favorite doll, Sally, in their matching dresses. Our dog must have been feeling a little left out because she sat herself down in my way. What was I supposed to do but give in and shoot a few with her too.

We were having some difficulty getting some without her blinking. She knew that she was blinking too. So we tried a few "tricks" and I got a few smiles with her eyes showing. I could tell that she was just about done so I convinced her to let me do some where she is looking off to the side. Love those ones.
All things considered I am very happy with the photos that we got.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed shooting them. I am not saying that just cause she is mine. I say it for all my shoots. I have to admit that sometimes shooting my own family is more difficult than shooting others.

The Goings On in the Life of Me!

In January I posted that every few months I was going to do two things. Those two things are to post the Goings On in my life. The other was Through the Eyes of a Child. While I do not have photos just yet of Through the Eyes of a Child they are on their way. I do have new updates on the Goings On.

Starting next week my hours at my day job will be set and I will be off on the weekends. Very excited about that. Looking forward to having the weekends free for photo shoots and spending time with my family. We have booked a beach vacation this summer to Hilton Head, SC. I am counting down the weeks and days until we go. I still have to wait until the end of June. I can not wait to get there and get great beach photos.

Kris is playing indoor soccer now. I have to say that I really never cared too much for soccer. That is changing now however. We make it to every game and I try to get some great shots at each one. I have posted a few of them here.

Grace is dancing and looking forward to her recitile in June. I can not wait to get her costume and get some cute photos of her in it. She keeps us busy at the socccer games and last week she got to play around and make some goals of her own. Check her out. Is she gonna be a soccer player too?

Keep watching for more Goings On. I will get a post of Through the Eyes of a Child up soon.

Hailey- 3 months

Hailey turned 3 months old and so it was time for another shoot. With Easter around the corner I wanted to do some Easter poses. She was so happy and smiley for this shoot. She even gave me a little giggle. Stacey wanted a few with her and the baby and a family pose too.

I love this pose with Stacey holding Hailey's hand in the heart. I wanted to "recreate" the heart on the belly pose.

What a great Easter Bunny she made!

Hailey is not a fan of "tummy time" but she did well for a few poses.

Love these two photos! I asked Stacey ahead of time to pick out a hooded towel for us to use in some of the photos. They have a great master bathroom so what better place to shoot these than on the side of the tub with the big mirror behind her!

Asleep in Mommy and Daddy's hands.

Mommy and baby!

Thank you Stacey and Rick for letting me into your home to shoot your "little pumpkin"!
I look forward to seeing how much she grows before our 6 month shoot.

Spring is on its way! Special

Spring is beginning to show its face here in Broome County. With the last few warm days it has brought great hope to me. Hope of the nice weather to come and all the great shoots that I am looking forward to. I have had many requests for shoots. Many of those requests will bring new faces to my camera and blog. While I am still offering just a Cd of photos, I thought that I would offer a special to all my upcoming shoots.

So here it is...

Take a look through the blog. Be sure to read some of the information and not just look at the photos. In honor of Easter and Easter egg hunts I have hidden 3 free 8x10 photos on different posts. I am offering one to each of the three people who send me an email and book a shoot stating where you found them. Be sure to find all three and list them in the email. When you have your shoot you can choose your favorite pose and I will print it for you as an 8x10. Email me at: kgrussellphoto@yahoo.com with where you found the free 8x10s listed. Be sure to check the posts form last year too and not just the ones posted this year. That is all the help that you will get.

I look forward to seeing how well this goes over. And if it works well there will be more offers like this in the future.

GOOD LUCK!

Lucy!

This is my family dog, her name is Lucy. She is a 7 yr old full breed Boxer. We brought her home when she was about 6 wks. old. Even though she was bought for our son, Kris, she has become all of ours. She was the right choice for our family.

I could not decide if I liked this one in black and white or the color. So I decided to post both of them. What do you think?
I had her photos done in a studio when she was 3 months old and have not had them redone since. Of course we have many snap shots of her. I wanted new posed photos of her. On the day that I was shooting my son and nephew I thought that I would try and shoot Lucy too. Sometimes she is as bad as the kids and does not want to cooperate but she did great. These were the three that I liked best. Now to decide which one will go on the wall...

Kris-14

This is my son, Kristopher, better known as Kris. He turned 14 in January. It is so hard to believe sometimes that he has gotten to be a teenager already. He definantly is his own person and knows what things interest him.

While I am not a big fan of any type of guns it is only my opinion. He wanted an air soft pellet gun for Christmas and that was what we got him. He is responsible with it and knows the gun "rules".
I took these photos so that we had a memory of one of his many interests as a teenager. I love the shot above with him looking down the barrel.

On the same day that I shot these of Kris I also took some of my nephew, Joseph. You can see more of him in the post following this one.

Meet Joseph

This is my nephew Joseph. He just turned 13! While spending a weekend with us I decided to shoot some photos of just him. I was glad to have a new face in front of the camera and he was really good about letting me pose and "shoot" him. He has been in front of my camera before but he has never been the only subject of the lense.

I love this blue fabric! It made a great back drop and thought that the combination of his red shirt made him pop.

When I suggested that he put on his full Army uniform he cooperated. My son however thought that I was crazy to use the camo fabric that is behind Joseph though. He did not like that I was combining the two different patterns. I however think that it doesn't look so bad and that he once again "pops". As you can see in the next post of my son that he did not argue with me when I suggested to shoot some photos of him in front of the fabric.

Meet Hailey Mae!

Several months ago I posted the maternity photos of the Swartz's, and this is the sweet little one that was in the belly! She arrived in December a few weeks early. She was about a month old when these photos were shot. I am so excited to be following her as she grows over this first year! Keep watching for the post of Hailey and watch her grow with me! You can also see the aternity shoot here http://kgrussellphotography.blogspot.com/2009/12/swartz-maternity.html.

Here she is in Daddy's hands. I love the peaceful expression that is on her face.

Here are several that I shot with the same ribbon used in the maternity shoot. This one I had to post with the silly expression on her face!

Here are 2 more sweet poses with the "God's Gift" ribbon.

All wrapped up in a pink feather boa!

A cute smile at her mobile in her crib! And a shot looking down at her so that you can all see what she was looking at.

This one looks like she is staring at her hand all stretched out in front of her.

A photo with mom and then one with dad. I choose these two to post because I love how she is looking at the camera and they are staring at her.

Here she is as the Christmas "gift" that she was supposed to be.
Thank you Stacey and Rick for allowing me to be a part of Hailey's first year. free 8x10 I look forward to our future shoots. I hope that you enjoy all the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
