Meet Nancy

I first met Nancy about a year and a half ago. When we met we hit it off right away. We discovered that we both had sons the same age who played indoor soccer. So, when she came to me and asked me to shoot her photos for a website that she was starting for motivational speaking. She had told me that she wanted to do some near water and a well. I told her that I had the perfect spot for the water but was not sure on the well. Nancy found one in a family's front yard that she fell in love with and asked the couple if we could shoot there. They were fine with us using their lawn and the well. So we started at the house with the well and then headed to the waterfalls. We then ventured out to this pond that I was sure I could find again after taking photos there "forever" ago. Well we did not find the pond and ended up with a scratch on Nancy's face and me stuck in the mud, but we did great photos at the first 2 locations.
The wishing well was made by the couples son and had thier last name engraved in it. It was beautiful and once I seen it I knew why Nancy wanted this well for her photos.

This tree was also in the couples front yard and I loved it so we took photos in front of the tree before we headed to the waterfalls.

Here are a few of my favorites from the waterfalls. We got very lucky that it had rained for a few days before the shoot and the water was flowing full force!

It was a little cold but Nancy had no problem taking off her shoes and getting a little wet.

Nancy I am so glad that I could shoot these photos for you and can not wait to see the website and which photo you choose for it! Good luck to you!

Jamie Sneak Peek

Jamie is a 2012 Binghamton Senior that I had the chance to "shoot" last month. We had a lot of fun with this shoot, even though we chose to shoot on a weeknight. We had to be creative because it now gets dark so much earlier and we shot them all outdoors. We started out one night and that night did not go so well... The battery in my car died (I was using my headlights as extra light) and we had to sit at Wolf Park waiting to be rescued. By the time that we were rescued it was a little too dark to finish the shoot.

One of the things that Jamie wanted to do was wear her 2012 sweats and Binghamton t-shirt and take photos in front of the signs at the 3 schools that she attended. So, her wish was my command and we did just that. However, when we got to West Middle School we discovered that there was no sign, or if there is one we missed it. I wanted to share 3 of my favorites in that we took in front of the schools with the names showing.

So here is a little sneak peek of Jamie's 2012 Senior photos. More to come soon, I promise!

I do have to say that I did not take her photos on an the angles that they are at intentionally, but LOVE the way that it worked out!

CBCA Jr/Sr Banquet 2011

In May of 2011 I had the opportunity to shoot the Junior/Senior Banquet for Central Baptist Christian Academy. It was held at South New Milford Baptist Church in the gymnasium. The junior class (and family) worked hard to get the gym decorated and looking beautiful. They did a wonderful job. The colors were black and purple. Here are a few decorations from the banquet and the invitations that the Junior class made.

These great stars were hanging from the ceiling. (not sure how the logo got rotated on the image)

The centerpieces on the table.

This was the backdrop that we created for the formal shots of the Juniors and the Seniors.

This is Hope, she is the junior who contacted me to shoot the formals for them. I thought that she would be one of the formals that I would share with everyone as she was my contact person. She had a great dress too!

Here is another junior girl, Ashley, that I thought I would share with you. Loved this dress too!

Here is Mollie and her date to the banquet. Mollie was a 2011 Senior and she was one of the seniors that I did photos for. You can see them here: http://kgrussellphotography.blogspot.com/2011/02/mollie-2011-senior.html.

I have to say that I think red is here color, she looks great.

One of the last formals that I shot was of all the Junior girls. We did a nice formal smiling one and then a fun one. I thought that I would share the silly one with everyone.

I had fun shooting the banquet for the CBCA juniors and seniors. Thanks for allowing me to create this memory for you!

Amanda is 2!

I have been shooting Amanda since she was just 3 months old. It has been a great experience watching and capturing her grow. She turned 2 in January and I met up with them to shoot these photos in early March.
She has become very smart and knows that when I show up at her house it is time for the camera to come out. I got my work out at these shoot chasing her around the house. But we got a lot of great images. Some were not planned and a few of them are the ones that I chose to share with everyone.

It is not easy to convince a 2 yr old to stand and hold that #2, but finally we got one.

LOVE this one! How sweet she looks here being a "mommy" with her doll.

Yep, I love toes, well little people toes any way and you gotta love the toes curled around the bar.

This image with the pink feather was not planned. We were trying to get her attention back and this feather fell off my boa and we started blowing back and forth to each other. She was having so much fun with it. I grabbed the camera back up while she was trying to catch and blow the feather back.

Thank you Carrie and John for allowing me to watch your little Amanda grow these last 2 yrs. I can not wait to get to shoot her 3 year photos next. It will be here before we know it. (Literally, know because it has taken me forever to get these posted).

Meet Rory

I had the pleasure to shoot this great dog for a great couple. My only wish was that I was shooting Rory for a different reason. Rory was getting sick and they were getting close to having to put him down. Tina and Mike wanted some photos of them with Rory and some alone. She was not interested at first and did not like the flash, but we finally coaxed her into cooperating. We were even able to get the guinea pigs in the shoot as well.

I am glad that we did that because shortly after they put Rory down Cinnamon got sick too. They lost Rory and Cinnamon in a very short period of time. I am just glad that I was able to give Tina and Mike a few great photos of their beloved pets.

Tina told me that she was very happy with this image because you can see a little bit of the sparkle in Rory's eyes. You can see the difference from this photo and the first photo. The first one Rory there is sadness in the eyes and this one you can see the sparkle.

This image was actually one of the first ones taken while trying to coax Rory into the idea of the shoot.

Rory with Butterscotch (the lighter guinea pig) and Cinnamon (who has a bad hair day every day, this was told to my daughter while we were there to inform her who was who)

I LOVE this photo. Rory relaxed and "smiled" a little while laying nicely with the guinea pigs.

Eating their favorite snacks... Cheerios!

This one is great because Butterscotch is "talking" and Cinnamon is looking at the camera.

Thank you, Tina & Mike for letting me come into your home and give you the images of the memory of your beloved pets that will last you your life time!

Baby "E"

Fran's grandson arrived in December 2010. They were here for a visit sooner after and we met up to do a photo shoot with him. We also did some of him with his cousin in their Yankees gear.

I was so excited to do this shoot as all of my newborn and baby shoots have been of girls and I was finally getting to shoot a baby boy. Don't get me wrong I love to shoot all my toddler boys but to have a baby boy in front of the camera was a pleasure.

What a way to start off the shoot with some baby toes.

I could not decide between these two images. Some tongue sticking out and a great big smile!

Here is baby "E" with his cousin Ashley. We were having some trouble keeping baby "E" happy at this point and he finally crashed. The Yankee photos were for Grandma Fran for her birthday.

Love this one of him fast asleep. What do you think of how I put the color back into the ball and his shirt so that the Yankees stands out?

A new prop and the first time I got to use it. And of course the toes had to peek through.

I brought along my little red Coca-Cola wagon thinking that he would fit perfect inside it. As you can tell he was a little long then I was thinking he would be. But I was so glad to be able to use it in this shoot.

Thank you Stephanie and Fran for letting me shoot this cutie pie. I look forward to the next time I get to have him in front of my lens. I can not believe that he will be ONE soon. maybe they will be back for a visit and I can do some around that time. Thanks to Ashely too for being a good sport.
