Jamie Senior 2012

Meet Jamie- she is a 2012 Senior! We started out to do her shoot one evening and were cut very short due to my car battery dieing and it getting very dark very fast. We took the first image that first night. We then headed out about a week later and in the evening again. Even though it was getting dark again we still got them all done. We did some at Otsiningo Park and then headed done to the Washington St Bridge and did a bunch there. She also wanted some done in front of all three schools that she attended, there was a sneak peek of some of these images, so we stopped at them to wrap up the shoot.

Yes, she is sitting on a garbage can. She insisted, so that is what we did. I like this one the best of this set of photos. The light partial in the background and her looking off to the side just say something nice about her sitting on a garbage can.

It started to sprinkle some and I love that I was able to capture the raindrops resting on the rails.

This was one outfit that she could not wait to shoot in. These 4 were my favorites in this outfit, so I decided to make them into a collage. It is a little hard to tell, but the bottom left where you can see her sneakers, are Batman Converse.

These last three images are ones that we took at the schools that she attended.

I had a good time shooting these with Jamie. She was a great subject and had some fun ideas of her own (garbage can and Batman outfit for example). Congrats on your final year of high school best of luck to you in your future, Jamie. I hope that these photos bring memories for years to come.

Oops, I Forgot One... Colleen & Bill

I forgot this photo in my original post. During the ceremony I was not able to take any photos using my flash. Colleen said that that was fine with her, but really it was not ok with me. So, I sat nicely in my pew and took out my point and shoot Fugi and took a few photos with that. I like this one beacuse at the same time that I was going to shoot the Groom's sister leaned over to take the same shot. I like this one beacuse you can see the image on her camera as well.

Colleen & Bill Are Married And There Was A Flood All Around

Colleen and Bill planned their wedding for 09/10/11, and they were not going to let a flood stop them from getting married. Just 3 days before the wedding we had a major flood in our area.(I would say our County but it was in the counties surrounding us and even into Pennsylvania.) They were planning on having the reception in their backyard but changed it to a local Church Hall do to all the rain making their yard a soggy mess.
My family and I were evacuated from our home and staying with family in Windsor. They let me know that the wedding was still on and was honored to be able to shoot it for them. I knew I had the wedding booked and came prepared with all my gear when we were evacuated (I would not have left it all behind even if the wedding was not booked.)
They were blessed with a beautiful day and had a beautiful wedding as well. Colleen is the mother of my husband's cousin's wife and this was not the first marriage for either Colleen or Bill. When I was asked to shoot this day for them I was honored to. Weddings are not usually my forte but for those that I know I love to help capture their day!
Congrats to Colleen and Bill on their wonderful life together!

Hydrangeas- my favorite flowers too!

Colleen and her girls. (l-r) daughter in law, daughter in law, granddaughter, Colleen, daughter, stepdaughter, (front row) all three are granddaughters.

Colleen's sons walking her down the aisle to give her away.

They were getting ready to do the receiving line and I was able to capture this little moment.

All the guest. Colleen's sister asked if I would shoot this image for them, she thought that it would be a great photo to include in the Thank You Cards. So there I was in very high heels, which I took off to stand on the edge of the gazebo, with my husband holding me, to take this photo. But you gotta do what you gotta do to get the photo, right?

The newly combined family!
When I spoke with Colleen about what she wanted most for photos she said that the most important thing for her was to have family photos done.

Love the cake topper, so simple but so pretty!

Congrats to Colleen and Bill. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. I hope that the photos bring memories for many years to come.

Caitlyn Senior 2012

I took these photos for Caitlyn on the same day that I shot the 3 cousins. I have to tell you once again how in love I am with this location. We originally had discussed shooting them at Hickory Park in Owego, I then got a call from Lois and she told me that friends of hers offered to let us shoot on their property. I met Lois at her home in Candor and off we went on all these back roads to Pennsylvania and through a field to these great location. I had a hard time narrowing done my favorites from this shoot. So, this post will be a little bigger then post of mine other posts. I wanted to make sure that I included some of all Caitlyn's outfits as well as all the great spots that I had to choose from. I hope you all enjoy these.

A few with her guitar. I was so excited when I was editing these to see that I was able to capture the reflexion of the grass in the guitar.

Caitlyn and her cat. I thought that was great that she wanted one done with the cat.

I have mention that I loved the hay field?

We were done with this outfit and she was starting to walk away from me when I noticed the back of the shirt had FOX on it. I could not miss capturing that. That is how we got this next image.

This tree was great. I have a thing for great trees and try to use one on all of my outdoor locations. Granted there has to be a great one at the location, but I am usually able to find that perfect one, just like this one. A tree brings a whole new feel to an outdoor photo. They are different sizes and textures and some times you get lucky and they have multiple trunks.

We then piled onto this golf cart and headed up a hill and into the woods to this spot with all these AWESOME boulders. I had a hard time choosing just the right one so we shot on three different ones.

Another great tree by this huge boulder. How could I not shoot here?

This one sat on the edge of a hill and I was actually standing on the incline looking up at her to
get this shot. I wanted to make sure to include some of the layers of the boulder.

Then back down to the pond for a few more images. This boat was just hanging out along the shore. Caitlyn was not too keen to sit in it at first, but she did. I am glad that she gave in because I was able to capture this great shot!

Her mom and siblings came along for the shoot. Here she is with her sister and the next image is Caitlyn with her sister and brother.

I am glad that I was able to capture these images for you to help you have this memory of your last year of High School. May the road that you choose next be a wonderful journey. Congratulations!

Where has the time gone? 16 yrs Old Already...

It is hard to believe that 16 years ago I became a mom! Kristopher came into this world at 7:15 on Friday January 12, 1996. There was a snow storm and a full moon that day. I had been at the hospital since 8am that day and almost 12 hours later he decided to enter the world. It is an amazing thing to bring a child into this world, there is no greater gift. It has been a wonderful journey watching him grow and become his own person. He was one of those boys who loved dinosaurs and super hero's. He could carry on a conversation with an adult at the age of 2. He has always been my "friendly" child. He has lots of friends, makes them easy, and teachers have always told me that the kids love him. His favorite things have changed over the years from an obsession with Star Wars to a love for Parkour.

I wish I had a digital photo of him from when he was a baby to add to this post. (I could always take a photo of one and then up load it...). I thought that I would share a few photos from this past year. This first one was a redo of what he had for his school photo last year and the next 2 are ones that my best friend Melisa took of him summer 2011.

It is amazing how much you have grown and changed over the last 16 years. This journey is far from over and I look forward to seeing the man that you will become someday. Even though it is still hard to believe that it has been 16 years already...

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY, My First Born.

I'll love you forever I'll like you for always As long as I am living my baby boy you'll be!
Love- MOM!

3 Cousins

Lois, a family friend who I have shot for before, called upon me to shoot her grand kids for her husband's 50th Birthday. I had shot Ella (the youngest) last year when she was just a few months old. Lois took us to her friend's land in Pennsylvania to shoot the three kids and her niece who is a senior. The land was gorgeous, there were so many places to shoot. We started st the pond and then did some in a hayfield.

So, while trying to get the kids attention to shoot this pose, something else caught their eyes and they all turned at once. Even though this was not a planned shot it is one of my favorites.

The wind picked up a little on us when we headed to the hayfield and this is the image that I was able to capture. I love that the kids stopped in the middle of their movements to just enjoy the gust of wind that was coming.

More wind but everyone is looking this time. See, why I love the top one so much?

This was such a great spot by the two fences. When I was editing it I turned it sepia just to see how it looked and loved it! I think that with the coloring and the background the spot created the sepia works. I also think that gives it a little bit of an old fashion feel to the photo.

Thanks Lois for allowing me shoot your grand kids!
