Hailey- 3 months

Hailey turned 3 months old and so it was time for another shoot. With Easter around the corner I wanted to do some Easter poses. She was so happy and smiley for this shoot. She even gave me a little giggle. Stacey wanted a few with her and the baby and a family pose too.

I love this pose with Stacey holding Hailey's hand in the heart. I wanted to "recreate" the heart on the belly pose.

What a great Easter Bunny she made!

Hailey is not a fan of "tummy time" but she did well for a few poses.

Love these two photos! I asked Stacey ahead of time to pick out a hooded towel for us to use in some of the photos. They have a great master bathroom so what better place to shoot these than on the side of the tub with the big mirror behind her!

Asleep in Mommy and Daddy's hands.

Mommy and baby!

Thank you Stacey and Rick for letting me into your home to shoot your "little pumpkin"!
I look forward to seeing how much she grows before our 6 month shoot.

Spring is on its way! Special

Spring is beginning to show its face here in Broome County. With the last few warm days it has brought great hope to me. Hope of the nice weather to come and all the great shoots that I am looking forward to. I have had many requests for shoots. Many of those requests will bring new faces to my camera and blog. While I am still offering just a Cd of photos, I thought that I would offer a special to all my upcoming shoots.

So here it is...

Take a look through the blog. Be sure to read some of the information and not just look at the photos. In honor of Easter and Easter egg hunts I have hidden 3 free 8x10 photos on different posts. I am offering one to each of the three people who send me an email and book a shoot stating where you found them. Be sure to find all three and list them in the email. When you have your shoot you can choose your favorite pose and I will print it for you as an 8x10. Email me at: kgrussellphoto@yahoo.com with where you found the free 8x10s listed. Be sure to check the posts form last year too and not just the ones posted this year. That is all the help that you will get.

I look forward to seeing how well this goes over. And if it works well there will be more offers like this in the future.

GOOD LUCK!

Lucy!

This is my family dog, her name is Lucy. She is a 7 yr old full breed Boxer. We brought her home when she was about 6 wks. old. Even though she was bought for our son, Kris, she has become all of ours. She was the right choice for our family.

I could not decide if I liked this one in black and white or the color. So I decided to post both of them. What do you think?
I had her photos done in a studio when she was 3 months old and have not had them redone since. Of course we have many snap shots of her. I wanted new posed photos of her. On the day that I was shooting my son and nephew I thought that I would try and shoot Lucy too. Sometimes she is as bad as the kids and does not want to cooperate but she did great. These were the three that I liked best. Now to decide which one will go on the wall...

Kris-14

This is my son, Kristopher, better known as Kris. He turned 14 in January. It is so hard to believe sometimes that he has gotten to be a teenager already. He definantly is his own person and knows what things interest him.

While I am not a big fan of any type of guns it is only my opinion. He wanted an air soft pellet gun for Christmas and that was what we got him. He is responsible with it and knows the gun "rules".
I took these photos so that we had a memory of one of his many interests as a teenager. I love the shot above with him looking down the barrel.

On the same day that I shot these of Kris I also took some of my nephew, Joseph. You can see more of him in the post following this one.

Meet Joseph

This is my nephew Joseph. He just turned 13! While spending a weekend with us I decided to shoot some photos of just him. I was glad to have a new face in front of the camera and he was really good about letting me pose and "shoot" him. He has been in front of my camera before but he has never been the only subject of the lense.

I love this blue fabric! It made a great back drop and thought that the combination of his red shirt made him pop.

When I suggested that he put on his full Army uniform he cooperated. My son however thought that I was crazy to use the camo fabric that is behind Joseph though. He did not like that I was combining the two different patterns. I however think that it doesn't look so bad and that he once again "pops". As you can see in the next post of my son that he did not argue with me when I suggested to shoot some photos of him in front of the fabric.

Meet Hailey Mae!

Several months ago I posted the maternity photos of the Swartz's, and this is the sweet little one that was in the belly! She arrived in December a few weeks early. She was about a month old when these photos were shot. I am so excited to be following her as she grows over this first year! Keep watching for the post of Hailey and watch her grow with me! You can also see the aternity shoot here http://kgrussellphotography.blogspot.com/2009/12/swartz-maternity.html.

Here she is in Daddy's hands. I love the peaceful expression that is on her face.

Here are several that I shot with the same ribbon used in the maternity shoot. This one I had to post with the silly expression on her face!

Here are 2 more sweet poses with the "God's Gift" ribbon.

All wrapped up in a pink feather boa!

A cute smile at her mobile in her crib! And a shot looking down at her so that you can all see what she was looking at.

This one looks like she is staring at her hand all stretched out in front of her.

A photo with mom and then one with dad. I choose these two to post because I love how she is looking at the camera and they are staring at her.

Here she is as the Christmas "gift" that she was supposed to be.
Thank you Stacey and Rick for allowing me to be a part of Hailey's first year. free 8x10 I look forward to our future shoots. I hope that you enjoy all the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Ceiri / Armstrong Family

This is my good friend Jenn's family. Jenn is on the far left in red. In this family there are the parents and 7 children plus 5 spouses and then there are 14 children between the siblings. This makes one big family! These photos were shot outside the house that they grew up in. We shot them on a sunny Sunday afternoon after Christmas.

We were having some difficulty getting a great shot with everyone looking. Then someone suggested silly faces and this is what we got.

Here are the 7 siblings.....

....and here are the 14 grand children. There just might be more on the way!

Thanks to you all for letting me takes some photos of your family!

Meet Baby Samantha

Baby Samantha is the daughter of Amanda's mom's niece. OK a little confusing, but I guess we could say that baby Samantha and Amanda are cousins. It was fun shooting Samantha and trying out some new ideas.

This photo I love! It is Samantha holding Grandma's hand.

Here is cute baby Samantha!

Baby toes!
Trying to hold her head up.

I brought along the butterfly wings to try this shot out and am happy with how it came out! I did not know until after I shot these that Samantha's mom loves butterflies! What a great surprise for mom!

This is an old chair that I found in my attic and just love it! Samantha did not like it so much at first. I got her to fall and sleep and got a few cute ones!

Here is a close up of the first shot!

Here is Samantha with Grandma and one with Grandpa!

Thank you for having me in your home to shoot this cute little baby girl! I look forward to shooting her some more!

Amanda 1 year!

Amanda turns 1! Can you believe i? I have been shooting her for 12months now. We had a great shoot this time and had lots of smiles. The last few shoots she as been very shy with the camera. I think because we made this shoot into a play date (and photos) it warmed her right up. I brought my daughter along with me and she blew bubbles for Amanda which was a big distraction.

I brought along some dress up accesories and Amanda loved these beads the best!
The balloons that I brought along were a big hit too!
We finally had a great shoot and were able to get many smiles form Amanda.
I brought along some princess accessories. I thought that putting the tiara and the boa on her would look so cute. free 8x10 Which she very much does, however she did not like the feel of the feathers.
Showing off the Princess wand. I love this shot- how the wand is framing her happy mouth.

I am so glad that I got this shot. Leaning over and thinking about putting her face right into the cake. I thought for sure that was what she was going to do. But scroll down and continue looking and you can see what she did.

Contemplating over the feel of the icing.

Covered in icing and cake. The greatest part of turning 1, your very own bday cake to make a mess with and no one gets upset about the mess!
The clean up begins.
Thank you to the Whitney's for inviting me into your lives and allowing me to share in Amanda's first year. I look forward to watching her continue to grow this year and I hope for many years to come!

New Years Update

With the start of the New Year in full swing, as always we have lots of great plans for the year and the things that we want to accomplish. This year is not any different. I did not keep up with my 365 days of photos very well. My plan this year is to post something every few months with the goings on in my life.

I have many new ideas that I want to try out and new places to shoot when the weather is nice. Looking forward to having lots of new faces in front of the camera this year too. Another item on the to do list is a new camera. I am also hoping to find a great point and shoot camera in the hopes of not bringing along the "good' ones to every family outing.

I have been a busy photographer already and have shoot postings to be watching for at the end of this month. Baby Amanda has turned 1! We had so much fun with this shoot and she enjoyed the cake that I brought along. It has been great watching her grow this year. This past week I have also gotten my fill of babies. I had two shoots with little girls, Hailey is 1 month and Samantha is almost 2 months. I tried out new and different ideas with both of them. My good friend Jenn had me shoot some of her and her family (parents, siblings and their children). We did them outside on a sunny Sunday afternoon after Christmas. They are a large family, one of the biggest that I have shot recently, and am looking forward to getting a few of them posted.

My little girl, who is 4, has been following in Momma's footsteps. She has been enjoying taking pictures with my old point and shoot and doing pretty well with it. It is so cute to watch her set things up just right to photograph them. I plan on doing a few posting of "Through the Eyes of a Child". Be sure to keep your eye out for them too.

So here is to a new year and all that it has to bring! I am so amazed at how much can change over a year and a half. I am very excited that I have been getting many requests for photo shoots. I am looking forward to sharing them all with you too!
Oh one more thing on the to do list. Get some great outdoor pictures of my family (parents, siblings and nephews too). I also want to try and get some "unposed" ones of Josh and I!
